Four things worth knowing before you apply, whether your child is at a Czech school today or at an international one.
The Czech test can be waived
Only for a child schooled abroad, not for a child at an international school located in the Czech Republic. The waiver never covers maths.
How the waiver worksRegistering at a Czech school
Czech children at an international school in the Czech Republic must also be registered at a Czech 'kmenová' school. Foreign children with temporary residence do not need to be.
Moving between international schools
From an international school, the unified exam does not apply to a move to the English College in Prague or into a higher year.

When to start
What is the best time for diagnostics?
About a year before the exam. That leaves enough time for preparation without rushing, and shows early what the child needs.

We always judge the diagnostics against the school year. What the child has not yet covered at school does not count as a gap, it becomes part of the plan. Even in grade 7 we can tell where the child stands and how far they can get by the exam.

FAQ
What families ask us
- How many times can my child sit the unified exam?
- Twice, on both regular dates. The better result from each subject counts, even if your child applies to only one school.
- How many schools can we apply to?
- Up to three programmes without a talent exam, plus up to two programmes with a talent exam, ranked by priority. Applications go through DiPSy or on a paper form. Priority does not affect how the school ranks your child.
- What about private schools or schools with the IB?
- Those add their own part to the unified exam, which can make up to 40 % of the result. We describe them on the International school admissions page.
- When should we start preparing?
- Ideally about a year before the exam: grade 8 for four-year programmes, grade 6 for six-year, and grade 4 for eight-year. We judge the diagnostics against the school year, so it makes sense even earlier. We can also manage intensive preparation in less time.
- How much does preparation cost?
- We propose the plan and price of preparation after the analysis, based on the goal and what your child needs.
- Do you guarantee admission?
- No, no one can guarantee admission. We show where your child stands, what is missing for the chosen school, and if they do not have a chance yet, we say so and show the alternatives.
