Diagnostics · potential analysis
So your child sets off in the right direction
School is a tool, not the goal. In the analysis we look at where your child is heading, what drives them and where they stand today. You leave with a written report and a concrete first step.

What the analysis finds out
Four questions the analysis answers
The same structure for every child, whether they aim for a gymnázium or an international programme.
Who am I?
How your child thinks and what holds them back
Their relationship to school, to mistakes and to learning. What they enjoy and how it can become a bridge to preparation. This is often where the real obstacle shows, such as a fear of speaking up carried over from primary school.
What can I do?
Where your child stands against the real exam
The skills the exam actually measures. For entrance exams, the points and the tasks where they are lost. For international programmes, English and the way your child approaches new problems.
Where am I heading?
Which school makes sense and when to decide
Together with you we look for a goal your child can handle and that still moves them forward. The report includes a timeline that marks when the school decision is made.
How do I improve over time?
Plan, habit and who is responsible for what
Preparation in phases, a daily rhythm that holds even in a weak week, and clear roles: who leads your child, who is your contact and what stays with you.
Why a school report is not enough
Grades measure something else than the exam
A grade shows how your child does in their class with their teacher. The exam compares the whole country and asks differently.
Top grades are not readiness
We have seen a student with the best grade in Czech and a result below half of the national cohort. Both were true at once.
The task format decides
Same subject, different question, different result. Choosing the right option is easy; finding and fixing mistakes in a text is not.
The cause is often not the subject
Fear of mistakes, effortful reading, memorising instead of thinking. Until it is named, extra lessons only add hours.
The outcome
What is in the report
We write it so that both you and the tutor who takes over your child understand it. The whole team works from it.
- 1Where your child stands against the exam, skill by skill
- 2What holds them back, in their own words from the session
- 3The goal and a timeline marking when to decide
- 4A preparation plan in phases
- 5A daily habit at three levels, depending on the week
- 6The team with names and roles, and the next steps
Your journey starts where you are right now.
How it works
From booking to a plan
- 1Book a timeWe agree on a time that suits your child and you.
- 2Online analysis60 minutes on Zoom. We work with your child, not about them, and go through it with you.
- 3Written reportAnswers to the four questions, the goal, the plan and the first step.
- 4Preparation followsBased on the report we propose a plan and a price. Your tutor then starts where the analysis ended.
For whom
When the analysis makes sense
Parents most often book it one to two years before the exam. Earlier leaves more room to change things.
Entrance exams
Eight-year, six-year and four-year gymnázia, including schools with their own exam. How many points your child has today and what separates them from the chosen school.
Entrance exam preparationInternational programmes
International schools, IGCSE or IB. Whether this path suits your child and what to add.
University
For students heading to university, the entry point is university counselling: a consultation with Petra and a written report.

Who you work with
Arina
head of our international team
She went through the IB herself and now studies at HKUST in Hong Kong, so she knows both sides: the programme a student is in and the university applications that come next.
She leads the analysis in English, talks to your child and to you, and writes the report. She also builds the team around each student and teaches maths, physics and chemistry.

When to start
What is the best time for diagnostics?
About a year before the exam. That leaves enough time for preparation without rushing, and shows early what the child needs.
| Programme | Exam in | Diagnostics ideally in |
|---|---|---|
| Eight-year gymnázium | grade 5 | grade 4 |
| Six-year gymnázium | grade 7 | grade 6 |
| Four-year programmes | grade 9 | grade 8, many families start already in grade 7 |
| English College (Year 1) | grade 7 | grade 6 |
We always judge the diagnostics against the school year. What the child has not yet covered at school does not count as a gap, it becomes part of the plan. Even in grade 7 we can tell where the child stands and how far they can get by the exam.
FAQ
What parents ask us
- Is this a psychological assessment?
- No. It is an educational assessment focused on preparation and school. We do not offer psychological services.
- What if my child does not want to cooperate?
- We expect that. The session is not a test; it is work on tasks and a conversation. Most children open up once they see nobody is grading them.
- Will we get a school recommendation?
- Yes, including alternatives. If the chosen school is out of reach for now, we say so and show what it would take. No one can guarantee admission.
- Is the whole analysis in English?
- Yes. The session and the written report are in English, led by Arina, head of our international team.
- Where is your price list?
- We publish the price of the analysis. We propose the plan and price of preparation after it, based on your child's goal and needs.
