Parents are usually afraid of two things: committing before they know what they are getting into, and their child not clicking with the tutor. That is why money comes fourth here.

What families ask us
- How much does preparation for the entrance exams cost?
- It depends on the rhythm. One lesson a week comes to 3,960 Kč a month, that is 990 Kč for a 50-minute lesson. With three lessons a week a lesson costs 890 Kč and the month 10,680 Kč. We recommend the rhythm based on what comes out of the analysis.
- How much does IB tutoring and preparation for selective schools cost?
- A lesson costs 1,110 to 1,240 Kč depending on the rhythm, from 4,960 Kč a month with one lesson a week. The price reflects how demanding the programme is; the lesson lasts the same 50 minutes as on the Czech path.
- When do we pay?
- After the first lesson, once you know who will work with your child. Before that you only pay for the potential analysis, if you order it.
- What if our child does not click with the tutor?
- We change the tutor. It happens and we deal with it straight away, not after months. If the second attempt does not work either, we refund the first lesson.
- Why is the analysis paid?
- The potential analysis is a 60-minute session with Zdeněk and a written report, not a short interview. It costs 2,999 Kč and stands on its own — you pay for it even if you then decide not to continue.
- Is the first consultation free?
- Yes. A short call, about 10 minutes, is always free. It helps us decide the next step together — the analysis, university counselling, or the first lesson.
- Are the lessons online or in person?
- Teaching is fully online and it is a choice, not a compromise. An online lesson produces a transcript, and from it we can put together a summary of what was covered, homework and feedback for you. A lesson at your kitchen table would leave none of that behind — only the hour and an impression of it. The second advantage: your child gets the partner who actually fits, wherever you live.
- What if a lesson falls through?
- You can cancel or move a lesson up to 24 hours in advance; after that the lesson is used up. Illness and similar situations we handle case by case — get in touch and we will sort it out. If a lesson falls through on our side, we always replace it.
- Can we stop?
- Any time, at the end of the current month. It is not a commitment for the whole season, nor a subscription that renews quietly.
- How long does the preparation take?
- For the entrance exams the season runs from September to April, up to the national exam. For the maturita and the IB it follows the exam dates. You can continue after the season, but nothing obliges you to.
- Do you offer psychological services?
- Doučení jinak is an educational service. We focus on preparation for entrance exams, the maturita, the IB diploma and on university counselling. We do not provide psychological care.
- Do you guarantee admission?
- We do not guarantee admission to a particular school or a particular result in the national exam. We build the diagnostics, the goal, the plan and the habit with you. The results our students have achieved are shown elsewhere on the site as a retrospective, not as a promise.
